Raul Seixas (June 28, 1945 - Salvador, Bahia, Brazil; August 21, 1989 - Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil) was a brazilian composer singer and songwriter, and one of Brazil's most genuine rock'n'roll rebels. He died of heart attack due to diabetes problems that were related with alcohol abuse at the age of 45. Seixas listened to Elvis Presley since his youth and by imitating him he learned to play guitar at a young age. He was exiled to the US when a military coup overthrew the Brazil government. Shortly after, however, he released his album Gitawhich was greatly successful.
